About Arieseni
Arieşeni (in Hungarian: Lepus) is a village in Alba County, Romania, residence of the village with the same name.
Historically attested to in 1909 under the name Lapus, the village was originally part of the former River Common (now Albac). By 1924 the area Arieşeni with Garda de Sus and Scărişoara formed a single community, bearing the name Scărişoara. Its development is due to population migration from the lowlands to higher places, free, looking for mountain pastures.
